Questions

Straight answers.

Is this a bag for walking?

No. It's the car and the hallway: the bag for staying put without power, or for leaving by car. Each person's walking bag is an Operator or a Recruit.

Fifteen kilos?

Yes, because it carries water for four. Two people lift it; the straps let one adult carry it to the car. If you need to walk, leave the water and take the filter.

Why both a filter and tablets?

The filter takes out bacteria and parasites from stream or flood water; the tablets deal with viruses. Together they make almost any clear water safe. Boiling does both, if you can.

Which family is it for?

Two adults and two children. A family of five adds an Operator or a Recruit; a family of two still wants the water and the shelter and uses the spare for a neighbour.

Where should it live?

The boot of the car, or by the back door. Somewhere you pass every day, so you remember it's there.
