Coming soon

The first production run of the Recruit is under way. Leave your email and you'll hear the day it's ready to order — one message, nothing else.

Written for a child: the card inside says stay with your adult, blow the whistle, show the card.

The same body as the Scout, so a child and a dog can swap stories about their bags.

Built like the Operator. Sized for a child.

The same waterproof laminate, taped seams and AquaGuard zips, on a frame a seven-year-old can carry for an hour. Straps that cinch down to small shoulders, and a sternum buckle with the whistle built in.

Questions

Straight answers.

Why is there no knife, no fire and no medicine?

Because it's a child's bag. A child needs light, warmth, water, a way to be heard and a way to be identified. The adult's bag carries the rest.

What age is it for?

Three to twelve. From about five a child carries it themselves; at three and four the piggyback straps clip it to a parent's Operator and the child carries it for the short walks. Under three, the bag is the Cub.

Can my child personalise it?

Yes, with your own pen or marker: the wristband, the card and the comfort pouch. Nothing is printed at the factory, so the bag ships the day you order it.

Is the food safe for allergies?

The ration is labelled vegan and gluten-free and made without nut ingredients, and there are no sweets in a child's bag. Always read the label in the bag against your child's own allergies.

Will it fit in a school locker?

Yes. 40 by 26 by 15 centimetres: a small day pack.
